Navigating high school can be a tumultuous journey for our teenagers. They're constantly bombarded with academic pressures, social expectations, and the daunting task of figuring out who they are and where they fit in the world. It's no wonder that many of them struggle with anxiety and uncertainty about their identity during this pivotal time. But what if I told you that there's a way to help your child not only survive high school but thrive in it? As a college planner specializing in guiding high school students towards discovering their purpose and identity, I offer a transformative solution: an aptitudes assessment paired with one-on-one mentoring.
Unlike short-sighted personality tests, aptitude assessments dive deep into how your child's brain is wired for success, providing invaluable insights into their unique cognitive profile. What’s really cool about this is your child’s aptitudes, their wiring, is fully formed by the time they turn 15 and it doesn’t change. This is why I don’t like telling a student to pursue their passion. Students have lots of passions. And just because they’re passionate about something, that doesn’t mean they’re good at it. So when you tell a high school student to pursue their passion, you’re not helping them find their path to success. But an aptitude assessment will. Learning about your aptitudes is like discovering your personal roadmap to long-term success. Imagine the relief of knowing that your child possesses everything they need to excel academically, socially, and personally. With this newfound clarity, they can confidently chart their path forward, armed with a clear sense of direction and purpose. A comprehensive aptitude assessment has been a game-changer for my students. It helps empower them to embrace their identity and pursue their unique path with unwavering confidence. That is, when it’s coupled with our one-on-one mentoring program. Kids need another adult, besides their parents, pouring into their lives. Research shows that children who have a formal or informal “mentor-like” relationship with someone outside their home are less likely to have externalizing behavior problems (e.g. bullying) and internalizing problems (e.g. depression, anxiety). So if you're a parent concerned about your high school student's well-being and future success, consider investing in our one-on-one mentorship program, which includes the aptitude assessment during their sophomore year. The assessment is not a test – rather it's a roadmap to unlocking your child's full potential and guiding them towards a future filled with possibility. Let's work together to empower your child to thrive in high school and beyond.
